Congressional Scorecard
The Center for Freethought Equality Congressional Scorecard monitors the activity of members of Congress for the humanist and atheist community.
Our community has a wide range of interests in public policy, including safeguarding the secular nature of our government and the separation of church and state, addressing climate change and environmental justice, promoting human rights and civil liberties, advocating for religious freedom domestically and internationally, and ensuring the well-being, health, safety, and dignity of all people.
To assess each member of Congress, legislative actions pertinent to our mission are used to generate a score that reflects support or opposition for these policy issues. Representatives’ and Senators' scores are determined by floor votes, bill sponsorships, and membership in the Congressional Freethought Caucus.
